Large state with over 800 RV parks, and SW Florida has more RV parks than any other area of the We wish them the best as they rebuild.įortunately most of the parks in the SW Florida have re-opened and have power. Go out to these park owners, their staff, and their guests who’s lives and businesses have been Received extensive damage and will be closed for an extended period of time. We won’t forget it when the economy takes a turn and they can’t get the park filled up.FLORIDA IS OPEN AND CONTINUES TO BE THE BEST PLACE TO CAMP. In fact, they will indeed book it, and they just doubled their money. If everyone is truly that booked up, then they certainly won’t have a problem booking someone in 30 days for the canceled reservation. RV parks that want to keep your money even if you cancel 30 days in advance is a reflection of greed. This type of customer service in this day and age (or lack thereof) is unacceptable. Gave up and booked another location 20 miles fromJacksonville. Same exact story showed 11 spots available, but we were unable to book a spot. So called Sun Outdoor corporate office, got VM. After inputting all our info, it said our RV must be less than 40’, but we could see it was among their biggest pull through areas. Finally, figured we would go ahead and book it since it was still available. Left another message about the spot we wanted which was shown as available. Sat on hold for 10 or 15 minutes and hung up and called back. Called again, a person answered and said “hold please” before i could ask my question. We called and left a message as we wanted to ensure the pull through on the map would work for us. Found a couple of Sun Outdoor properties, Flamingo Lake, and Pecan Park. We were on our way to Naples, and needed someplace to spend the night around Jacksonville, FL. Overall, I recommend this place if you are looking for something convenient to the airport and/or interstate. Hubs and BIL both enjoyed their burgers, etc. There is a basic camp store, nice bathhouse, but the highlight is that cafe! Adult frozen beverages, some beers on tap - including a couple local options - and a menu that covered the usual bases quite well. We were in the space directly next to the entrance, so while it was busy during the day, we had no trouble with sleeping at all. The only tip I can offer is that it is close to the interstate, which is both a pro from a convenience standpoint and a con from a background noise perspective. Friendly, knowledgeable, and no one ever made me feel like I was a bother. Everyone, and I do mean every single employee that I interacted with delivered a stellar experience. Lovely view (lake with turtles and fish) and a refreshing breeze. The cabin was directly across from the cafe, and we spent a good amount of time hanging out on the cafe porch. My sister and BIL stayed in a cabin which was fully equipped and so cute, and my hubs and I stayed in our RV.
